Selichot - days of mourning, quiver and repentance
Every year, before the fall arrives and before the Jewish New Year and Yom Kippur (Judgment Day) , the Jews are engaged in self-flagellation, self-analysis and are praying for forgiveness from the Almighty for the sins they have done during the last year. Late at night they wake up for a special, penitential Selichot prayer…

On this tour you will find out everything about the Jewish traditions and holidays and listen to jewish religious music in the most unexpected performance.

Itinerary:
· We will gather near the windmill in Mishkenot Sha’ananim neighborhood.
· Stop by the Menachem Begin Museum and see ancient graves from the 8th century B.C.
· We will go down to the Gehenna, where Jewish prophets prophesied against human sacrifices to idols.
· Clime the Zion mountain, where we will visit the grave of David, The Second King of the United Kingdom of Israel, David was the vanquisher in his war with Goliath, a poet and a musician.
· We’ll enter the Old City through the Zion Gate and go up to the roofs of the Jewish quarter, from where you can see the Temple Mount.
· We will walk through the dark alleys of the Old City, where will be gathered thousands of believers. We’ll see the praying near the Western Wall.
· The walls of King Hezekiah, one of the most prominent kings of Judah mentioned in the Hebrew Bible and is one of the kings mentioned in the genealogy of Jesus.
· The walls of Sultan Suleyman, commonly known as Suleiman the Magnificent in the West and the " Al Kanuni" (the Lawgiver) in the East.
· We will see the Cardo street (cardo means “heart” in Latin)
· We’ll learn about the life of kings and prophets, wealthy and common people, heretics and believers the actions of whom still affect the fate of Jews all around the world.

Those with walking difficulties can start the tour at the Zion Gate.
Those who want to watch / participate in the Selichot prayer at the Western Wall should know that the Selichot prayer at the Western Wall occurs between the hours 00:00-04:00, so our trip will start around 20:00 - 21:00
For thoses interested in just an evening tour, we can start at 19.00-19.30
There will be restrooms along the way.
It’s important to bring warm clothes and water, you can also bring flashlights.
